Industrial Remix: Integrating Manufacturing in Regio Parco, Torino
Site Plan, Masterplan, Report
For MIT’s Site Planning Practicum in partnership with Politecnico di Torino
Our task for this project was to reimagine an industrial remix redevelopment future for a largely abandoned site, Regio Parco, on the the edges of the once-industrial powerhouse Torino, Italy.
Regio Parco embodies Torino's challenges and opportunities.
The post-industrial city has many abandoned industrial structures and a fragmented identity. However, it also shows potential in the skilled industrial knowledge foundation and diverse immigrant populations.
My main role was to analyze and create diagrams of existing conditions, and build the site framework and a phased implementation strategy that would bring all recommendations to life.
Our vision for the site is to become an industrial remix development prototype. It aims to challenge the existing, nostalgic concept of manufacturing and build upon developing innovations. The final product is a thorough report that details recommendations for the site and a case study for other cities.
